#4 Julien Callede, co-founder of Made.com (2019, in French)
We met with Julien Callede, the inspiring co-founder of Made.com. Made.com is the second furniture revolution since Ikea. Alongside Ning Li, Chloe Macintosh, and Brent Hoberman, Julien launched Made.com in 2010 in Notting Hill, which started bringing well-designed, functional furniture to Londoners’ doorsteps. How did the team succeed in getting people to buy furniture online?
In this episode, Julien talks about how Made.com succeeded in growing a customer base to turn the start-up into a close to 200M€ revenue company in 8 years, with annual growth rates close to 40%. He talks about Made.com’s collaboration with freelance designers, and how the team managed to optimise stock in the early beginnings, as well as plans to scale in new countries.
